About
I am Jonny Wilson, a design engineer working across electrical design, control systems, industrial automation and industrial cyber security.
I hold EngTech TMIET professional registration and a BEng (Hons) in Engineering, specialising in electronics. My work and study include control-panel design, BS 7671, hazardous areas, functional safety, IEC 62443 and operational technology cyber security.
I use this site to keep practical engineering guides, project notes, calculators and lessons from real engineering work somewhere useful. The articles draw on engineering practice, study, standards and project experience, with an emphasis on explaining the reasoning behind design decisions rather than presenting rules without context.
Readers can expect material on electrical and control-system design, industrial automation, industrial cyber security, hazardous areas and related engineering tools, alongside occasional notes on other technical projects.
The material on this website is provided for general educational purposes. It does not constitute project-specific engineering advice, certification or professional approval. Calculations, assumptions and outputs must be independently checked before being used in a design or safety-related decision. See the Website terms.
